A different approach to corporate innovation
In this talk Cathrine Movold, Chief Product Officer and Head of the Lab at FinStart Nordic, shared insights and discussed how they organized corporate innovation as a separate unit at SpareBank1 SR-Bank.
FinStart Nordic is an innovation branch of SpareBank1 SR-Bank. They invest in exciting new fintech initiatives and projects, and build new ventures from scratch. FinStart applies a start-up mindset to corporate innovation, and gives SR-Bank several ways to explore future opportunities.
In her talk at Y Oslo, Cathrine explained how we need both creative freedom and closeness to core business to succeed with innovation. She talked about how they work in a user-centric way, with new businesses and new technologies, to create new and innovative banking services for groups of people such as teenagers and freelancers. They also look at major trends, such as climate change, and how it affects and influence finance.
Cathrine Movold
Cathrine is Chief Product Officer and Head of the Lab at Finstart Nordic. She is a designer and strategist, specialising in digital product development. She has more than 15 years of experience combining design and business thinking.
Cathrine has worked with new business development in corporates such as Sony Mobile, Philips Electronics and client work at digital consultancy Making Waves. The last few years she has turned her interest towards entrepreneurship and tech start-ups, through freelance consultancy, mentoring, board participation, investments and her role in Finstart Nordic.
