Love the problem and not the solution!
Why do we build things nobody wants? How can we build something our customers actually want? In this talk, Ash teached us a systematic approach to uncovering problems and then converting them into solutions your customers cannot refuse. Often, traditional approaches such as surveys, focus groups, and even direct questions to customers don't work. Your customers themselves often don't know what they want. In short: In this talk, we learned how not to fail.
We have been through times of waterfall and agile production. Now is the time of lean production, and some of the first comapnies to do this were companies like Dropbox, Airbnb, Facebook and Amazon. What characterizes some of those companies, is the number of experiments they run per year.
The mindset in the entrepreneurial method are these:
- The Business Plan is the Mindset
- Tackle riskiest assumptions first
- Love the problem, not the solution
- Make evidence-based decisions
- Traction is the Goal
- Give yourself permission to scale
